Simulating crowd behaviour and motion: An integration between econometric methods and behavioural experiments
با سخنرانی جناب آقای دکتر میلاد حقانی، 27 خردادماه 1399
Dr Milad Haghani is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies of the University of Sydney. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2017 with a PhD degree, and from Sharif University of Technology (School of Civil Engineering/Transport Engineering Group) in 2013 with a Masters degree. His main areas of research are behavioural modelling, choice analysis, transport psychology, urban transport, crowd safety and emergency planning. He has been the first author of more than thirty articles in the field of crowd dynamics, published across domains of transportation, safety, psychology and applied physics. His most prominent research contributions have been in the field of crowd and evacuation safety where he pioneered a new class of evacuation decision-making experiments and introduced first-time applications of advanced econometric methods to this field. This line of his research led to the development of a state-of-the-art crowd simulation tool with unique behavioural features and established accuracy. His experimental research in this domain has put a number of anecdotal behavioural theories about crowds under empirical scrutiny. These empirical efforts have challenged and (in some cases) debunked or clarified many long-held behavioural assumptions about crowd dynamics.
